Early College

Through ACT 77 Vermont has provided qualified high school seniors the opportunity to begin college a year early while still completing necessary courses for their high school graduation. This is called early college. For many Hazen Union students this has meant attending Vermont Technical College, Johnson State, Lyndon State and CCV.

Parents and students please be advised that this is unique opportunity that requires students who have demonstrated strong maturity as well as effective academic and social skills while at Hazen.  Students will be receiving both a high school and college transcript and their studies should be taken seriously. Please contact each school to obtain more information or schedule an appointment with Chris Miller to review options.

VTC's program is called VAST - Vermont Academy of Science and Technology.
In this program you apply and move to campus in either Randolph or Williston. The deadline is May. Please follow the link for more information:

Johnson State College also has an Early College program. Its admissions is rolling. This means applicants are admitted on a first come first serve basis. Please follow the link for more information or call Joye Lyon at (802) 635-1218 or joye.lyon@jsc.edu. Also follow the link for more information about their program.

Lyndon State College's Early College program is similar to Johnson State College. The contact for this program is Trevor Barski. He can be reached at (802) 626-4848 or trevor.barski@lyndonstate.edu.
